Hi, my name is Leo Gallegos and I am the founder and CEO of Libertas.
I am from San Antonio but over the last 10 years I have lived in Dallas, San Diego, and Washington DC. In the summer of 2019 I am moving to Virginia Beach with my amazing wife, Liz, and two young boys.
I received my bachelors in History from the University of Dallas in 2007. Shortly after I began a career in the Financial Services Industry and remained in the business for almost a decade. Most recently, I was a Wealth Manager at a Fortune 500 financial services company advising a portfolio of high-net worth clients in their San Diego office.
After Liz and I married in 2014 and had our first son a year later, in mid-2016 we swapped coasts! Our little family made an epic road trip across the country, moving to the Washington DC area for Liz to pursue her Doctorate degree in Nursing through the US Navy.
After having a profound conversion experience in 2013 (read my story here), God had slowly been giving me the courage and vision to make a career change to a role that was more integrated with my passion for the faith. The move provided me with this great opportunity. Shortly after our arrival in DC, I began at The Catholic University of America as the Associate Director of Planned Giving and later took on the responsibilities of managing the University’s National Collection program as well.
After two positive and enjoyable years at Catholic, it seemed clear that God was again encouraging me to trust Him and to pursue my hopes of building a faith-based business and apostolate for men.
In September 2018, I resigned from the University and devoted myself full time to building and growing Libertas.
